Pirates took hostage at least 17 fishermen aboard four fishing boats off Tawi-Tawi province in Mindanao, southern Philippines. The report said the pirates, armed with M-16 rifles, attacked the fishermen off Tawi-Tawi.

A couple years ago, seven Sri Lankans in a small fishing boat and a couple of handguns between them tried to take over the neighbouring country of Maldives. It was the funniest thing I’d ever heard. Apparently they were quite drunk.
