Africa is NOT Being Devastated by AIDS: The AIDS Lie (Part 4)

The latest official AIDS epidemic update report from the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the World Health Organization (WHO) is dated December 2007. Here are some of the statistics:

• Adults and children estimated to be living with HIV in 2007 in Sub-Saharan Africa: 22.5 million (even as high as 24.3 million) or 70% of global total.

Estimated number of adults and children newly infected with HIV in 2007 in Sub-Saharan Africa: 1.7 million (can be as high as 2.4 million) or, again, 70% of global total.

Estimated adult and child deaths from AIDS during 2007 in Sub-Saharan Africa: 1.6 million (can be as high as 2 million) or almost all of global total.

This means that practically all those estimated to be newly infected with HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2007 are also estimated to be dead in 2007.

Staggering. Maddening.

AIDS is no longer the Gay Curse in America. It is now purported to be wiping out Africa – a place that is also riddled with tyrants, droughts, famines, desertification, civil wars, genocides, and millions of refugees.

Africa is NOT Being Devastated by AIDS: The AIDS Lie (Part 4)

Africa is NOT Being Devastated by AIDS: The AIDS Lie (Part 4)

Using UN estimates, the figures can definitely seem maddening.

For instance:

(1) These are figures in Kenya (circa 1998) that speak of the AIDS scourge:

• 480 Kenyans would die of AIDS each day.

• 175,000 Kenyans would die of AIDS every year.

• Three million Kenyans would have died of AIDS since 1981. (The fact is that, in Kenya by 1998, there had been 81,492 diagnosed AIDS cases since 1981, and many of these people remained alive and well.)

• A Kenyan dies of AIDS every three minutes. (If Kenyans were dying at this rate, there would be more than twice as many dead Kenyans in just one year than have ever been actually diagnosed with AIDS in the entire period of time known as the AIDS epidemic.)

(2) In 1987, the WHO estimated there were 1 million HIV positives in Uganda, the nation then considered the epicenter of AIDS. Ten years later, WHO estimates for Uganda remained unchanged at 1 million HIV positives while the total of actual AIDS cases through 1999 were less than 55,000 in the country of more than 20 million people.

(3) Facts were overwhelming. 250,000 South Africans had died of AIDS in 1999 – a quarter-million deaths in a single year.

Africa is NOT Being Devastated by AIDS: The AIDS Lie (Part 4)

AIDS in Africa is a unique thing. It is far more appalling than the information given us that “6,600 people will die today in Africa due to HIV/AIDS.”

AIDS in Africa is diagnosed by four clinical symptoms: diarrhea, fever, persistent cough, and weight loss of more than 10% over two months. These conditions are rampant in Africa. These illnesses are a result of parasitic infections, unsanitary drinking water and bathing waters, as well as malnutrition. These symptoms are the effects of poverty and other problems that have troubled Africa and other developing areas of the world for many decades.

HIV tests are not required for an AIDS diagnosis in Africa.

Africa is NOT Being Devastated by AIDS: The AIDS Lie (Part 4)

Africa is NOT Being Devastated by AIDS: The AIDS Lie (Part 4)

Actually, the most current statistics for global total based on the WHO information is quite far from the estimates as of December 2007 – or nearly nine months ago to date.

By the end of 2007, an estimated 33 million people worldwide were living with HIV. Records after December 2007 state that only some 2 million died of AIDS in that year.

Where lies the rub?

In an earlier installment of this series, I noted that AIDS conjures up the image of huge numbers, unlike cancer and most other conditions, because

AIDS reports typically use cumulative totals. In other words, a current year’s cases or fatalities are added to the sum total of all AIDS diagnoses or deaths that have ever occurred, automatically creating a larger figure and the impression that AIDS constantly rises.

Also, estimates and projections are frequently used in place of actual AIDS numbers. For example, the 1999 United Nations AIDS Report estimates that 2.5 million people throughout the world died of AIDS in 1998, while the November 1999 World Health Organization (WHO) Weekly Epidemiological Record reports that only 2.2 million people worldwide have ever received a diagnosis of AIDS. The UN estimate is widely promoted while the actual WHO case count is rarely publicized.

Africa is NOT Being Devastated by AIDS: The AIDS Lie (Part 4)

Africa is NOT Being Devastated by AIDS: The AIDS Lie (Part 4)

More realistically:

(1) According to epidemiological estimates from the WHO and the World Bank (WB), Sub-Saharan Africa is the region of the world with the highest level of mortality. The top killer diseases in the region are malaria, diarrhea, pneumonia, tuberculosis, measles, whooping cough/pertussis, African sleeping sickness or tsetse, meningitis, and tetanus.

(2) While Africa is the frequent subject of dramatic media reports, actual numbers of diagnosed AIDS cases on the continent are relatively unremarkable. For example, 1981 through 1999 cumulative AIDS cases for South Africa, the new epicenter of AIDS, total just 12,825.

(3) AIDS is not, as many believe, Africa’s primary health threat; several million cases of tuberculosis and malaria are reported each year in Africa while total AIDS cases on the continent for the entire AIDS epidemic hover just above one-half million. For example, in 1996 there were 170,000 cases of tuberculosis reported in Ethiopia and less than 850 cases of AIDS; South Africa’s tuberculosis cases topped 91,000 compared to 729 diagnosed cases of AIDS. In fact, AIDS is not the leading cause of illness or death in any African country. Because of the high incidence of exposure to malaria, tuberculosis and other diseases that produce false positive results on HIV tests, many mainstream scientists question the validity of HIV testing in Africa whenever HIV testis is actually done. Cases of tuberculosis, malaria, and measles far outnumber the cases of AIDS in Africa.

(4) The 1999 WHO report states that the actual number of diagnosed AIDS cases on the African continent was about equal to the total for AIDS in America, even though Africa had more than two times the population of the USA. Africa is often cited as a worst case example of what could happen in America despite figures that demonstrate that 99.5% of Africans do not have AIDS, and among Africans who test HIV positive, 97% do not have AIDS.

(5) In July 2007, the Washington Post reported that a decade-long global initiative to discourage HIV positive mothers from breastfeeding caused a 20-fold increase in deaths among children in Botswana in 2006. After a season of heavy rains, government surveys of water pipes in 26 villages in northeastern Botswana found contamination in every one. Tests on sick children in the area revealed the presence of dangerous waterborne pathogens such as cryptosporidium and E coli. In one village alone, 30 percent of formula fed babies died that year while all those receiving breast-milk remained alive and well. By pushing free formula as an AIDS prevention measure, health experts interfered with the once universal practice of breastfeeding, a plan “that left children more vulnerable to other, more immediate lethal diseases” such as diarrhea caused by consumption of septic water.

Sadly for the world, especially Africa, AIDS is really a political disease.

The only question I have is: who is winning what with it?

Grace, I mean, in a big part of Africa the medicines aren’t distributed, therefore, who can possibly be profiting?

I hate you Grace because I have to think about things!

The Foundation that manages the Global Fund (that has, to date, US$ 11.3 billion and to be spent in 136 countries) states the following:

(1) Sub-Saharan Africa is the world’s worst-affected region. Seventy percent of all people infected with HIV live in sub-Saharan Africa, even though it is home to only 11% of the world’s overall population.

(2) Around 40 million people worldwide are infected with HIV, 95% of whom live in developing countries. In 2004, approximately five million people were newly infected with the virus.

(3) HIV/AIDS has killed more than 20 million people worldwide. 3.1 million people died of AIDS-related causes in 2004.

(4) AIDS is the leading cause of death in Africa and the fourth-leading cause of death worldwide.

So, Celso, will it really matter why medicines aren’t distributed?

If you look at the mind-boggling figures stated in Global Fund’s factsheet, whose country reports look great?

I don’t want to think about who is making profits. I can’t think that much.

Someone must be profiting somehow. It’s been awhile (actually 3 or 4 centuries) that Africa is being used by major world powers.

Slavery, then Imperialism, then Cold War, and now who knows? Muslins, China, even Brazil are advancing on the continent!

A genocide it’s just an excuse for domination. What and who is doing that is the question I’m making myself.

Well, the most obvious profiteer would be the ones who get some business related to the dubious HIV test and the uncertain medications.

Given those staggering and mid-boggling figures about AIDS, looks like the medical aspect of AIDS is one huge global business.

My heart bleeds for Africa.

You’re right. Africa has been used and re-used for profit and financial gain. I don’t know if you can still call that genocide with what’s happening with it.

This is bigger than money. It’s like US, BRICs and Europe are trying to divided the continent to get something very precious. What they can see that we don’t?

could it be possible the profits come from the very aid sent to Africa for research, supplies and meds? The death rate would insure the world would keep contributing, and more death is less people, leading to more profits..could it be a cash flow cycle? I know it seems hard to believe, but in Mexico, deviation of appropriated funds is as natural as white on rice...Who’s to say it’s not the same way?

Right-o, Oscar, spot on!

That’s completely possible.

The dead and dying will command huge fundraising, wouldn’t they? And who to use the raised funds on if they’re dead?

Macabre but very very possible.

See, my imagination is running wild now!

This is shocking and sad...
Why this conspiracy against Africa?
This is silent genocide! All they need is food, primary healthcare and education...

Hi, Mad.

The reason why Africa is the biggest on the AIDS map is because it is also the location of the highest number of infected people and casualties from the top killer diseases of the world such as malaria, diarrhea, measles, etc.

Also, as is stated in the article above, AIDS in Africa is diagnosed by four clinical symptoms: diarrhea, fever, persistent cough, and weight loss of more than 10% over two months. AIDS in Africa need not be diagnosed through the HIV Antibody Test.

The top killer diseases in the world happen to have symptoms that are the benchmarks and indications for AIDS in Africa.

But ’AIDs’ tag is giving negative results as well. Why carry on programs which are counterproductive? Even the other day there was talk about making HIV testing compulsory in Africa. Isn’t there any monitoring, evaluation, assessment etc?

That’s a very realistic observation, Madkat.

The whole support that AIDS gets from people is about the fear of the unknown
Couple that with paranoia of incurability, and you have the power of nightmares.

AIDS has one dubious testing and various dubious cures.

The key battleground is public perception, and the most deadly weapon is the estimate.

I think most people who are not even part of the AIDS conspiracy are willingly taking part in it and don’t even know there is a conspiracy. For example the governments of most nations. They so require the AIDS funds so they go ahead and diagnose people with HIV and AIDS, give staggering numbers and invite staggering funds. The UN aka USA is just too happy to give away money in the name of AIDS because the moment US aid comes in, the country is bought.

Yes, Jaiyant. The Global Fund has, to date, US$ 11.3 billion and to be spent in 136 countries.

Aside from the Global Fund, there are numerous Foundations, fund-raising mechanisms, and thousands of organizations at international and national levels that seek help for the disease.

AIDS is the biggest (and easiest) fund campaign of recent years.

It is mind-boggling that there aren’t as many organizations and associations that seek funds for malaria and diarrhea - the top two killer diseases in the world (and in Africa) today.

Wouldn’t it be really far better and more beneficial if they spend the huge AIDS advertising budgets to help counter hunger, at the very least?

Grace,

I have been looking at Kenya data on HIV/AIDS and I’m absolutely stunned as the scam unravels right before me.

In the 90s, Kenya’s prevalence rate was given (by USAID, WHO and the National AIDS Control Council) as about 14%. The preferred campaign slogan then was that ”700 Kenyans die daily” of HIV/AIDS.

But after a different sampling methodology was used for a demographic and health survey in 2003, the figure was found to be actually lower at 6.7%. Rather than say that this was the ”corrected” figure, the President himself went on record to state that the ”government campaign had succeeded in lowering the prevalence rate”!

Something along the lines of...”We have done a good job. Give us money to achieve more”

And Lo and Behold, the US ambassador announced a 10 fold increase in funding($370million) soon after, in ”recognition of the successful Govt. programs”.

Unbelievable!

I think slowly the truth will come out, about the perpetrators which include international organizations and the local governments. In my understanding, the AIDS conspiracy is not well organized, just like the Al-Qaeda. The names of HIV and AIDS have been used by many independent entities to exploit and cannibalize. Just like the issue of Al Qaeda has been.

Jaiyant, AIDS dissidence has been going on for as long as AIDS has been existing. Right from the start, there were already skeptics of this Gallo creation.

Like I noted, if you google ”truth about AIDS,” you’ll get less than half a million entries, but if you google ”myth of AIDS,” you’ll get nearly 4 million entries.

But it’s been a battle of perception all along. And guess who created the mass hysteria and mass paranoia of AIDS? Mainstream media.

Well , In Burma trade sanction stopped western companies from doing business there. Some NGOs come in with western and world aid money for AIDS prevention. UN and NGOs are mainly interested in HIV since it is sexy and attractive to have donor’s cash. HIV started in border area trading and inly prevalent there mainly at first where as the whole country’s main problem is malaria, TB , hepatitis and malnutrition. But they have not much fund for these real ones. With market economy there are some more cases of HIV in the city as well later and they make so much out of it. Their offices spend a lot on research papers and books to show to the donors. The American impression of the third world is that we lack in culture in controlling the nature. During cylcone Nargis disaster, an American NGO sent condoms to Burma saying that they need it during this recovery time. How can one think about such thing in such a tragic situation. The doctors in Myanmar are working for NGOs and journalists are writing HIV stories. They all are paid in foreign currency so they are saying what they are instructed and not saying what the real need is . More problem there in other areas than in HIV.

I hope I have said enough. I am not saying this with prejudice but I want to say the truth. I am glad that they are helping us but sometimes I do not find things right and I do not think funds are used rightfully . But this may be their rice bowl and selling point . How can you say! An expat can earn over 150,000 for a job there plus expenses.

Thanks for the information, May!

Yes, Third World and underdeveloped countries do look good on NGOs’ Country Reports. And Country Reports get continuous funding.

The NGO business is a huge money-making machinery. And there’s raket in practically every move of theirs. Civil society is so replete with corruption itself.

Paper clips are small time. Backhand commissions and kickbacks occur in the printing of tons of reports and reading materials!

Most of the money for AIDS is spent on this thing called AIDS education because the AIDS establishment says that the disease has no cure, will need lots of prevention so as not to spread, and will therefore necessitate a universe of educational materials.

So, instead of the huge AIDS funds going to the alleviation of those 29 familiar diseases grouped under the surveillance category called AIDS, the money goes to educating the publics on how to prevent the spread of HIV, a non-existent entity!

the communities in some areas in Uganda are spread so far apart, some living in wetlands, uplands, drylands - some are even resistant to change too. And these are most widely hit HIV/AIDS areas. But because they are so remote, far apart, very few - if any of the HIV/AIDs support organisations get to them.

Most of the data these organizations work with is from the urban areas where whatever data they have, is tripled or quadrupled to make for such remote communities.

On the question of who is profiting: its tricky but i can name several. The drugs companies, governments (like what Harun says above), NGOs almost all involved apart from the patients.

John, I’m appalled to hear what is going on in each of the countries. I could never believe that aids could even be a hoax. However things are so much clearer now. Now the responsibility of the scientific community lies in isolating the HIV virus. Only when they isolate the virus in humans can we go ahead and rightfully say HIV exists.

John, thanks for coming over and validating the fact that AIDS estimates can be erroneous.

What I’m interested to find out, John, is how many of the people of Uganda know what you know, and conclude what you have concluded.

Because the battle with AIDS is one of mass perception.

Please come back and enlighten us on my query.

Who profit? Definitely one is condom factory in US. In Burma NGOs sell millions of condoms imported from US and try to sell it to traders with much discounted price so that they can show their sales up like commercial companies. ( social marketing they said ) Their condoms are packed unattractive ( looks like made of big and thick rubber ). It competes with Indian made condoms which are imported from the border. After some hands changed it is difficult to keep the retail price low and poor people cannot afford it.

You gave an awesome insight just now. In this AIDS nexus we also have the condom manufacturers who have a lot to gain. I think in a way, Burma is worse off than other countries, caught between a military government and an exploitative west (which also includes India which is to the west of Burma.)
