Hi Grace, Thanks for highlighting this critical issue. Asia as a whole should work out a strategy for global financial crisis rather than blindly follow the Western prescriptions! Hope the ADB forum comes out with a practical and long term strategy

Thanks for your comment, Prince Nehemiah.

The ASEAN, not necessarily ADB, is having a summit soon (after a series of conferences) on how best for the Asia-Pacific region to combat th global economic meltdown. Hopefully, these leaders keep their focus on what the region truly needs, and not what the benefactors of the region want.

I’m not too hopeful on the Asian Development Bank. The donors and patrons aren’t ’Asian.’ These are financiers of business interests from the West.
