In a grand display of solidarity against climate change, the Philippine Senate has unanimously approved Senate Bill 2046, the Philippine Renewable Energy Act - with a vote of 18 to 0. This proves that political will can be renewable, too.

This is a very commendable effort from a government. Yes, things can happen if there’s concerted political will. I hope the implementation of the law goes a long way.

I sure hope the government does not renege on its duty to implement this law. After all, it took nearly two decades for this piece of legislation to get passed!
