The Vatican has begun considering the canonization of Pope Pius XII (1876-1958), the wartime pope who, in recent decades, has been accused of doing little to prevent the destruction of Jewry by the Nazis.

A very interesting figure. A Pope with a sinister past.

This is a very interesting article Grace, and I thank you for putting it up. It’s interesting in that I wonder why the author wrote it in the first place.
I mean who the hell cares about what dead popes did or didn’t do? Why do we have to keep on fanning the fire?
Frankly, I know jewish families and organisations who continue to talk about the holocaust in order to keep the thing going. I know catholics who keep defending their point of view regarding such-and-such-a candidate. I know muslim and european negationists, I know many people, with many ideas.
BUT WHY IS THIS STILL AN ISSUE? WHO CARES EXCEPT THOSE WHO WANT TO PROFIT FROM THIS DISASTER? OR PEOPLE WHO WANT THE DISCORD TO CONTINUE?
(I’ll be happy when we move forward. This is a non-issue that I personally think is no more than tinder for people who have not yet understood that the solution lies in preparing the future, and not re-hashing the past, or people who want it to continue.....to the detriment of all of us.
I don’t want to whitewash the past, I just want conciliation for the future......
....and the author of this article is doing nothing to help.
Because he still has an axe to grind).
