This is a very ambitious claim by CNN, I dont think the situation in Afghanistan is that simple. There is no single Taliban entity in Afghanistan to begin with. There are ISI run groups, Al Qaeda operated groups,ex Mujahedin like Hekmatyar and then there are local Taliban not to forget the Pakistani Taliban. I would say it is a mess and it would be very difficult to negotiate with the mess. But generally I support ending wars through negotiations!

Nice post Grace.
This can only be a good thing.
Whether one thinks it’s because the Americans want to negotiate because they can’t win, or that it’s because the Taliban can’t win so they need an out, is not important.
What’s important is to stop the killing.
We can play the blame game afterwards........
I salute you, Phillipine Lady!!

Thanks. Saludo din sa iyo, Michael!
I think this is proof that Muslims are really peaceful, and that it’s just radical Islamists and their propagandists that are giving Islam a bad name.
This is a timely effort by the Saudi king who is respected by the Muslim congregation.
Otherwise, this is a clear example of how people get tired of war, anyway.
