The Human Rumor Virus: The AIDS Lie (Part 1)

Apart from the power of nightmares brought about by the rise of radical Islamism and its counter-campaign called war on terror, there has been another successful psychological warfare that is being waged against humankind – with the same desired result of collective panic.

As far as hoaxes are concerned, this one is even bigger than the fear of one eccentric bearded billionaire bogeyman and his buddies.

Both spin the same yarn of fear and paranoia.

Both are about a phantom menace.

The Human Rumor Virus: The AIDS Lie (Part 1)

If you google ‘truth about AIDS,’ you’ll most likely get this report: nearly 422,000 results in 0.27 seconds of search. Google ‘myth of AIDS’ and this is what comes up: 3,830,000 results in 0.36 seconds of search.

Staggering.

There must be truth to the rumor that the rumor is just a rumor.

FACT: Most of our impressions about HIV and AIDS are actually based on popular ideas and have little basis on scientific fact.

The following is a brief summary of what we have been made to believe about AIDS today:

• An infection from the virus known as HIV causes the disease called AIDS.

• The AIDS test is the accurate method of detecting HIV. It is also a simple test.

• There is an impending AIDS pandemic in the West, with HIV infection spreading among women and heterosexual men, and is increasing exponentially every year.

• AIDS is devastating the Third World.

• The virus spreads through the following ways: promiscuous, unprotected homosexual sex; sexual contact with an HIV-infected member of the opposite sex; sharing of intravenous drug users’ contaminated needles; or use of contaminated blood supplies.

• Pregnant women who test positive can pass the virus on to their unborn child.

• HIV can also be transmitted to the baby outside of the womb through breast-feeding.

• There is currently no cure for AIDS.

• Drugs are available to treat AIDS patients but they are very expensive.

• A new range of anti-HIV drugs, the ‘protease inhibitors,’ are now more effective.

The only thing scientifically valid in the above list is that AIDS drugs are expensive.

Have we really been duped for nearly three decades?

The Human Rumor Virus: The AIDS Lie (Part 1)

The book The Truth About HIV by authors Stephen Ransom and Philip Day reveals the following:

• In spite of over a billion US dollars in research funds, medical science has not yet found and isolated a human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

• The HIV=AIDS=DEATH hypothesis is fraudulent.

• The ‘AIDS test’ routinely produces results of ‘false positives.’

• A positive ‘AIDS test’ result is being used to traumatize patients and coerce them into taking highly toxic drugs.

• Africa is NOT being devastated by HIV. There are other causes behind these African illnesses.

AIDS is not a new disease

There is no such relatively new disease called AIDS. AIDS is a new name given by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to a collection of 29 familiar illnesses such as yeast infection, herpes, diarrhea, some pneumonias, certain cancers, salmonella, and tuberculosis. The AIDS category was a creation of the CDC. Since 1981, the surveillance tool AIDS has been used to track and record familiar diseases when they appear in people who have tested positive for antibodies associated with HIV.

A person is diagnosed with AIDS if he or she has one or more of the 29 official AIDS-defining conditions and if he or she tested positive for antibodies associated with HIV. However, these 29 old diseases and conditions were not thought to have a single, common cause prior to the creation of the AIDS category. They also used to have documented causes and treatments not related to HIV. AIDS diseases existed before the adoption of the name “AIDS.”

None of these conditions appears exclusively in people who test HIV positive, while all appear among people who test HIV negative.

In other words, pneumonia in a person who tests HIV positive is AIDS, while the same pneumonia in a person testing HIV negative is pneumonia.

On January 1, 1993, the CDC expanded the definition of AIDS to include people with a T cell count of 200 or less who have no illness or symptoms. This new definition caused the number of AIDS cases in America to double overnight.

Also, one can have a diagnosis of AIDS without ever having an HIV test. This is referred to as a “presumptive diagnosis.” Even if the only difference between “pneumonia” and “AIDS” is a positive HIV test, the test is not required for a diagnosis of AIDS.

Since AIDS is not a disease, and there is no single, universally accepted definition for AIDS, the conditions that are called AIDS vary from country to country. For example, Canada’s Laboratory Centre for Disease Control (LCDC) does not recognize the American T cell count criterion for AIDS. This means that a certain percentage of American AIDS patients would not have AIDS if they were in Canada.

The World Health Organization (WHO) employs two distinctly different definitions for AIDS in Africa, neither of which conforms to the criteria for American AIDS or Canadian AIDS. The diagnostic definition most commonly used in Africa does not require an HIV test, only that a patient has at least one of three major clinical symptoms (weight loss, fever and/or cough), plus one “minor sign” such as generalized itching or swollen glands.

The Human Rumor Virus: The AIDS Lie (Part 1)

Immune deficiency can be acquired by chronic, habitual, and multiple exposures to the risks that can cause the group of symptoms called AIDS. These several risk factors are not infectious or transmitted through blood or blood products. Each of the AIDS defining illnesses had immune deficiency related to the particular illness, even prior to the creation of the term AIDS, and not necessarily connected to AIDS.

HIV has never been isolated in human tissue, and no scientific report exists to prove that it has.

In Henry Bauer’s book “The Origin, Persistence and Failings of HIV/AIDS Theory,” the author asserts that HIV/AIDS has never reached epidemic proportions in the United States; HIV is not an infection and is not transmitted from person to person sexually, by the sharing of infected needles, or by contact with contaminated bodily fluids; everyone is not at risk, even if they fail to practice ‘safe sex;’ HIV has never been isolated in human tissues; antiretroviral drugs may actually elevate mortality rates among non-symptomatic HIV-positive patients); and, most importantly, no proof that HIV causes AIDS has ever been published.

The Human Rumor Virus: The AIDS Lie (Part 1)

After nearly three decades and more than $50 billion in federal AIDS funding, there is still no significant understanding of HIV, still no safe and effective therapies have been produced, and still no hope to ending AIDS.

What the world has, though, is a powerful AIDS establishment that demands an even greater allocation of resources and support.

The world has funded the growth of multi-billion dollar industries, institutions, and organizations that depend on AIDS and its dubious HIV hypothesis.

Myths cannot cause disease.

AIDS is a political infrastructure hanging on a phantom menace called HIV.

Grace what are you saying? You have made me think twice about everything that I have learned till now. Are you really saying what you are saying? And if so, is it good news or bad news? If the HIV virus has not been isolated among humans, is it all just a hoax? Would even the WHO lie? I dunno how I must react to this. I’m shaken.

Celso, some of the 29 AIDS defining illnesses are curable (except for the cancers, maybe).

AIDS is NOT a disease!

It is a CATEGORY lumping together these 29 familiar illnesses.

You started a very ”dangerous” and fun game! Before I start to argue with you, I need to know if in Asia AIDS is considered a big deal. Here, though there are more than 60 thousands people contaminated, AIDS don’t scare too much because people can live more than 20 years with the remedies that government give for free.

Because there is a popular definition of AIDS (based on an HIV hypothesis), patients are tagged as AIDS patients. In reality, they are sick of any of those 29 familiar illnesses ONLY.

But AIDS is not a disease. It’s a category to which those illnesses belong.

Like I said up there, pneumonia plus HIV+ test is AIDS, but pneumonia plus HIV- is plain pneumonia.

AIDS in Brazil:

Though there are 400 thousand infected (I researched on the website of the Ministry of Health), the growth rate has decreased significantly and the ”treatment” is effective, unless such inaccessible places, such as forests or arid regions.

Most young people do not care anymore, because they are no longer afraid of (what is a big mistake). The infection rate is 18 per 100 thousand inhabitants.

Other diseases have become viewed as more dangerous, since epidemics such as dengue, malaria, yellow fever kill proportionately more, not to mention tuberculosis (20 million Brazilians are infected).

Rules governing AIDS vary from country to country (I gave an example in the article). The AIDS establishment has the power to limit news and control the flow of information. It started with the CDC, and it still largely rests there.

The reason for the sudden declines in number (India has also announced a significant decline) is because the rules of the game have been changed again.

Good for Brazil if it decides to concentrate on the really life threatening diseases. It’s about time to go back to those and spend on those instead what are usually earmarked for the global AIDS fund.
4 Stars
Grace, if your intention was to create a controversy, you succeeded! LOL! It may even be one of those ”lost in translation” problem, but your final metaphor gave me the impression that you said that the difficulties in finding a cure for this disease are more the result of greed of large laboratories than a reality.

If so, I agree with you to the point that the big labs have their own agenda. But the cure for this disease is something very hard to find (and I’m talking from a ”different perspective”: Brazil is the only country (as far as I know) which broke all patents to produce all drugs and medicines (or whatever name is) in laboratories that do not seek profit because they belong to the government.

If not, I’ll have to read again and again and again...

No, you may not sleep with a number of people and still stay safe. Because then, you will get STDs.

Then you will be put under the HIV test, and you will test positive, then you will be given extremely harsh drugs (anti-AIDS drugs) that will weaken you and make you look like a corpse, and eventually will weaken your immune system, then you will die, then you will automatically be an AIDS statistic.

AIDS is a condition in which your immune system is attacked and hence, you are more susceptible to all the 29 diseases and you are more likely to die of those 29 diseases because, your body can’t protect itself anymore and even medicines don’t help.

I really don’t get this. Have we been getting scared by something that doesn’t exist? But how can every single government of every country lie? From what you are saying, I understand that after being diagnosed with HIV infection, people are made to consume toxic anti-retro viral drugs and that leads to complications and they die of AIDS. What about those that never get to take these medicines and die sooner? I have seen them here in India. AIDS patients dying like insects, because they can’t afford medicines..
4 Stars
Grace Calderon

That’s because their immune systems are already weak. There are other reasons for immune deficiency such as malnutrition, unhealthy surroundings, poor diets, etc.

Immune deficiency means poor(est) of health. Take away HIV from the equation, and you will still have the good old reasons for immune deficiency. Right?

They created the all-time panacea of ”anti-AIDS drugs.” These even come in so-called ”combo cocktails.”

A poor child inflicted with a life threatening disease (from the list of 29 illnesses) that will surely test HIV+ will be given these harsh drugs. How do you think the already weak body of the child will react to these harsh drugs?

That’s the tragedy that has befallen the AIDS phenomenon in Africa.

But that’s for another article in this series. :)

I will be very honest with you guys! When I read ”expensive drugs and treatment” I completely have forgot that most of the countries don’t give free drugs and treatment like in Brazil.

It’s a shame that governments around the world are cowards and have so much fear of US. Brazil did and what happened? A lot of complains, but US and other European countries couldn’t do anything about it.

Plus: Brazil’s minister of health (at the time José Serra) who did this has been praised worldwide for his courage.

What those companies would do? Leave the country? If so, broke the patents and start to produce locally!

Hello Grace and everyone else.. I did some browsing and found out there really is a lot of controversy surrounding HIV and the AIDS. The main argument of those who claim AIDS to be a hoax is that the HIV has not been isolated and AIDS is just a name for a collection of diseases. And then we have the dubious pharmacological lobby which has been pushing for drugs that are not effective so that they are still in business.

With these in mind, it is very easy to construct black and white thinking. A lobby that says AIDS and HIV are real and that there is no cure and the other one calling it all a hoax. I, in fact am caught between the two and I would definitely not go with the pharmacological or political lobbies.

However, to call HIV a complete sham and a lie maybe a little too much. It may even send out wrong signals to the target populations on whom we spend millions to create HIV/AIDS awareness. Though HIV may not exist as we know it, I think we still need to be wary about the virus, whatever it might be called or whatever its status of existence might be.

Madhuri and Grace, most drugs that are sold are many a times placebos. They are not even drugs! The pharmaceuticals need to survive, but then, if AIDS is a hoax and if they are cashing in on such a lie, then I have nothing to say. I still feel AIDS and HIV do exist and have caused countless deaths but we are not told the truth about its nature. HIV status means you are not part of the society, you don’t get jobs, you don’t get laid, you can’t use same towels and the list goes on. I have read about HIV positive people being thrown out of their houses and also losing jobs.

Yeah, they invented a category to lump up 29 familiar illnesses, slapped on a dubious HIV testing, and sentenced a patient to be ”dying” of AIDS.

Actually, no one dies of AIDS! These patients die of one of any of those old diseases.

But in the process, they were prescribed very harsh ”anti-AIDS drugs” that only ruined their systems more.

Hence, they die (and looked drugged out, wiped out before they go).

The AIDS establishment has had a way of controlling its news and outbound information.

Fact is each and everyone of us has a different level of immunity to diseases. There is no formal study that says those who took AIDS drugs live longer than those who didn’t.

It all depends on factors such as individual immune levels, as well as exposure to risk factors.

When asked on the witness stand why he wanted to be a lawyer, he said that he wants it because there’s a chance to be part of the triumph of justice.

This is what this whole thing has been about. This phenomenon of AIDS redefined the meaning of justice going to the dogs!

Ok, I will fall for that. If we start to analyse things based on this view, everything is bad and should be vanished: cars, religions, food, drinks, all forms of entertainment, drugs, everything, because anything can kill you and are controlled by corporations.

The only conclusion then is: there is no justice, all capitalists things should be destroyed and let’s start a new world order. But, socialism and communism is worse than capitalism! Anarchy only works for very small groups. So what should we do?

I say, the only thing we should do is be very critical of what is fed us via news and new information.

People are duped because they believe easily.

I say, always look for balanced views.

Oppression only works on people who easily believe.

LOL!

Finished with my woman
’cause she couldn’t help me with my mind
People think I’m insane
because I am frowning all the time

All day long I think of things
but nothing seems to satisfy
Think I’ll lose my mind
if I don’t find something to pacify

Can you help me, occupy my brain?
Oh yeah

I need someone to show me
the things in life that I can’t find
I can’t see the things
that make true happiness, I must be blind

Make a joke and I will
sigh and you will laugh and I will cry
Happiness I cannot
feel and love to me is so unreal

And so as you hear
these words telling you now of my state
I tell you to enjoy life
I wish I could but it’s too late

I had explored the scary proposition of blind belief to religion and journalism.

AIDS is an example of blind belief on SCIENCE!

Now we see that there is a common ground between science and religion.

Science isn’t all that impervious to its own ”dogma.”
3 Stars
Well, in the case of AIDS science almost became religion-like laying norms for social behaviour as well!

Oh so true, Madkat!

The phenomenon of AIDS has managed for nearly three decades to dictate fear, paranoia, and blind belief in people.

Isn’t that what religion does?

Don’t you see it, guys?

When man makes myths, we start believing in miracles!

I said that before about religion, and I’ll say it now about science.

Indeed this one true, but humans need to believe in something, is a primitive instinct on us.

Grace, that’s a dream! Humans need to be controlled because most of us are empty,
wasting genetic material.

This I agree to.. Both science and religion were created by humans. And science gave us something to be happy about at least. Science isn’t as bad as religion. But then it has all the shortcomings of religion itself. Because, lobbies have been created just like religious ones.. And you know what happens next. And I don’t believe anything that is given to me either. I’m at the other extreme end. I just can’t believe anything I’m told!

Grace, do you really believe that people are able to act critically? I live in a country were people believe in exorcisms, we are far from be a country that believes in science.

And what I see on the streets? Ignorant people trying to find a excuse to hate each other so they can distance themselves from their own pain.

Oh, yes, people can act critically. But there has to be the intervention of EDUCATION.

People act the way they do, believe in the things they believe in, because they do not know OTHERWISE.
4 Stars
Educations is the second step. People have to want that first. If Education would be the answer, people from England, US and other rich countries would have deposed their leaders!

I’m sure some, if not most, would want to depose their leaders. It’s just that their leaders are representatives only of bigger establishments that are too tough to topple.

By education, I mean critical thinking. Anybody can learn about philosophy or maybe information technology but to apply the knowledge critically is another thing.

People should be taught to think independently.

Sure they should, however they don’t. Lots because they can’t and lots because don’t want.

Yes, Jaiyant, Africa suffers from some of the harshest environmental conditions. Lack of water, lack of potable water, the heat of desertification, very poor hygiene due to marginalized impoverished conditions, drought, famine, lack of food.

All these can lead to poor immune systems.

But Africa is not being devastated by AIDS. There are other reasons for illnesses over there.

Africa needs education, unbiased uncluttered education. Education about truth. But then we all need to know what truth is. In fact there may be no truth and no lie. And there may not even be something called pain or joy.. Just a state of mind. And we make it all up.

Yes, Celso, AIDS is part of the reality of the last (nearly) three decades.

It’s been the biggest thing!

IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT IT ISN’T EVEN A DISEASE!

When we should be concentrating the funds on alleviating the conditions of dysentery, cardiac arrest, diabetes, breast and cervical cancers, etc, which are more life-threatening because these are the top killers of people, we throw the funds into the quest for the solution to ’AIDS’ (which is just a category that brings together 29 familiar illnesses that the world already knows about).

Grace, I am agnostic yes, and paranoid like hell. And not believing in anything doesn’t make one immune to existential angst. I have it more, because, I still question my existence and neither science nor religion can answer such questions. Believers have their books to provide the shell they need against the angst. I have no shell and I’m more vulnerable to existential angst.

Then use that angst to be critical of what people include in your objective reality.

Most of people will always believe in something, no matter what!

For more capitalist or pessimist that I’m sounding, it’s undeniable that! So ALL people around the world should have Education, sure! But do you have any idea of how long it will take for this happens?

To be critic is necessary a lot of conditions, but the most important is ”willing” to be so. Now tell me, how many people do you know that have critic spirits?

Jaiyant, my aunt often says this about me -living without beliefs and shells to retreat into is being courageous as well!

Not a lot of people are critical, Celso! Because the status quo is a big comfort zone.

All the more if such a seemingly impervious and highly credible establishment such as medical science says that there is a dreaded disease that’s spreading like a pandemic and there’s no cure!

It’s the natural reaction of people to JUST BE AFRAID.
5 Stars
And the cycle is closed: people are afraid, corporations and religions know that and make profits of it. People should be critical, but they don’t. I don’t see how to scape from that.

It’s almost a ”natural” order of the things, of the civilisation.

Angst alone can’t do much.. And that helplessness results in greater angst. So there... Grace, to be heroes, we need to get out of that system as you say. But see everything is so murky and ridden with deceit and lies. To make sense out of this clutter takes a lot of intelligence and will power. Which most of us don’t have.. See, I still find it hard to believe HIV is a hoax. Maybe when I wake up tomorrow, I will know that HIV is a cruel joke. Madhuri, not believing in anything is definitely very difficult and a lonely way of living life to! Celso, hope is the most oppressive situation.

Bravo Grace, this post of urs has set the ball rolling. You have dared to go against the general (mis)perceptions of millions.

I understand the fact that HIV+ve doesn’t mean the patient is gonna die.

It is the immune system at risk. But then human body’s immune system is held up even when someone is sick with simple cold, cough or tummy infection.

If left untreated or unattended even these trivial illnesses take a toll on life.

However you have come here with facts and figures break the myths surrounding aids.

I have always resorted to Homeopathy medication all my life. And somewhere down the line I can come to terms with all the facts that you have penned down on the basis of my experience with Homeopathy.

I have strted using homeoathic drugs and lots of water as well. Traditional medicine covers the illness and treats a symptom, then you need another drug for the other symptom, where as homeopathic is treating the body and the root. Maybe we are fighting illness in reverse. We need to inject more funds into strenghtening our internal weakness and less into weakening a strong symptom.

Oscar, actually most holistic treatments are far better than allopathic (western) ones, though homeopathy seems to have the least amount of potential side-effects etc, if any.

I am on herbs and supplements, only, for Rheumatoid Arthritis and doing very well. I highly recommend researching alternative methods to healing.

We also need to look more into prevantative medicine, as well.

Great post, Grace, but I don’t buy it. I’m an actress and AIDS (and all the various diseases associated with it) decimated a HUGE section of the entertainment industry (gays) during the 80s and 90s when promiscuous, unprotected sex was de rigeur. I had many dear gay friends die from the disease. If AIDS is a hoax perpetrated on the human population by the pharmaceutical industry, if I understand your hypothesis correctly, then how do you explain disproportiate deaths amongst certain sections of the population? Gays, drug users (those sharing needles), blood transfusion recipients etc. Almost all of these have to do with ”blood” and exchanging of fluids.

I would agree that there is something suspect with pharma. companies. There are probably cures for everything that the companies are holding back, but to insinuate that a disease doesn’t exist and esp. with AIDS, is rather irresponsible. If people don’t think AIDS exists, unprotected sex will make a huge resurgence, and the pandemic will re-occur.

Maybe I missed something in your post.

I don’t think you have missed anything, I think it’s just taking a view from a different angle and dibunking societies views and myths. Many are searching for a cure for A.I.D.S, but A.I.D.S. does not kill. We seem geared to cure what is not there. With A.I.D.S. death may be caused by a common cold..

I don’t know Oscar... people with cancer or heart disease might die from pneumonia because of a weakened or compromised immune system (which is what people with AIDS have), that doesn’t mean they didn’t have cancer or heart disease.

As I mentioned, I have Rheumatoid Arthritis which is an auto-immune disorder. People with compromised immune systems are also more likely to get sick from food-borne illnesses.. if I was to die from food-poisoning, that still doesn’t mean I didn’t have R.A.

Oh no Incognito,
I’m not saying the sickness is a myth..I think the ways choosen to treat it, or the ways portrayed to us for treating it are not seeing the picture correctly. It seems as if we are looking to CURE something that is essentially many common ailments, yet prove deadly for the AIDS compromised body. I think we should focus more on the body itself versus the symptoms that ail it.
