I honestly believe it was. I mean if you look at GOOGLE, a real threat to Microsoft, it would have been beneficial to both sides for Yahoo! and Microsoft to join together in the ’fight against GOOGLE’.

But Yahoo wanted to partner with Google more! :) Don’t the two have a new partnership sharing on ads now? I read somewhere that Yahoo and Google did this after the deal with Microsoft fell through.
