AP is essentially American. Their reporters and consumers are essentially American. And to make Americans understand the world, you have to tie things to what Americans know. If America has to get involved anywhere, you better tell them it has something to do with the people who caused 9/11. Otherwise, it will be too far from them and they won’t show interest.
